Anuland, an AgTech start-up developing precision agriculture solutions, has launched Anuland FieldSense, a new systemised approach to grass management that helps farmers reduce costs and achieve optimum grass cover, at the

National Ploughing Championships today.

Anuland Brings AI and IoT to Irish Farms

Anuland FieldSense uses a combination of sensors, artificial intelligence and cameras to deliver bespoke data to a phone app every day, empowering farmers to make better grass and farm management decisions. The intelligent grass growth technology saves farmers time and effort by automatically measuring grass growth and volume accurately, thus helping farmers achieve improved accuracy on forecasted yield and matching it to their feed demand.

According to David McDonnell, Director of Anuland, “Farmers know their land best, and when empowered with live automatically measured data from their own farm, they have the knowledge and expertise to truly maximise their returns. Anuland FieldSense aims to change how farmers see their farm.”

More than two years in development, Anuland FieldSense also helps track fertiliser usage, facilitating the optimum and sustainable use of fertiliser.

The FieldSense system includes a durable, all-weather monitoring station which houses a camera and sensors above and below the ground thatmonitor soil and crop characteristics. Anuland’s AI technology uses bespoke algorithms and machine learning to interpret the data and images captured and deliver rich insights and recommended actions to an App on the farmer’s phone.

Anuland was set up with the aim of helping farmers gain more precision and control on their farming practices.

“Farmers are trying to improve their business by balancing their labour needs, minimising inputs and maximising outputs. The application of technology can help them adapt to the changes in agriculture and deliver the best returns from their land. With Anuland FieldSense, the information to make better grass management decisions is now available at their fingertips,” Mr McDonnell continued.

Anuland is exhibiting in the Enterprise Ireland Innovation Arena at the National Ploughing Championships.
